THE FIRM
About Albatross
Albatross Supply Chain Group advises owner-backed and sponsor-backed companies in last mile and final-mile logistics, and businesses serving healthcare and life sciences supply chains. Albatross is the single accountable integrator: clients hold one contract, and the work is delivered directly or through managed specialists.
THE ROLE
About the role
The Commercial Marketing Lead owns how Albatross shows up in the market, then brings the same discipline to client businesses. About half the role is building the firm's own marketing. The other half is running the marketing workstream inside assigned client engagements.
SCOPE ONE
Firm marketing: Albatross
- Own the firm's narrative, voice and positioning across every channel
- Produce and maintain decks, one-pagers, outreach sequences, social content, print collateral and research publications
- Build sales enablement for the Business Development team, including talk tracks, objection handling and pursuit materials
- Keep a single source of approved claims, figures and proof points, and hold every asset to it
- Run the content calendar for the website, LinkedIn and insight publications
SCOPE TWO
Client marketing: assigned accounts
- Define each client's category position and message architecture so the business reads as one company, not a set of services
- Align internal language across leadership, operators and sellers before anything goes to market
- Build the external assets the client's sales motion needs: buyer-facing collateral, campaign structure and commercial materials
- Support revenue growth and Pre-Exit Program engagements, where marketing is one of six value levers, with work that holds up under buyer and investor review
- Carry up to five client accounts at a time alongside firm work
PROCESS
How the work runs
All external work goes through principal review before it is published or sent. Internal enablement material and external publications are kept separate. When a fact, figure or credential is missing, the Commercial Marketing Lead flags it rather than filling the gap.
REQUIREMENTS
What the role requires
- 5+ years in B2B marketing for professional services
- A portfolio of sourced, institutional-grade commercial assets: decks, research and sales collateral, not only campaigns or social content
- Working fluency in operating and financial language. Terms like EBITDA, cost to serve and OTIF need no explanation.
- Experience writing for principals and executives in a voice that is not the writer's own
- Enough judgment to stop and ask instead of inventing a number
- Comfort working inside a fixed brand system
- Ability to travel to client sites up to 15% of the time
- Preferred: experience in logistics, supply chain or sponsor-backed companies
FIRST 90 DAYS
What success looks like at 90 days
- Firm messaging, the approved claims library and core sales assets completed and in use
- Enablement kit delivered to Business Development
- Marketing workstream launched on at least one client account
- Assets approved on first or second review, with no need to rewrite the claims
APPLY
How to apply
Send a resume and a portfolio of three to five commercial assets (decks, research or sales collateral) to alba@albatrossscg.com with "Commercial Marketing Lead" in the subject line. Samples written for a principal or executive voice are especially relevant.
